Teach a Lesson

I have decided to change the "Responding to Student Writing" assignment to a "teach a lesson/activity" assignment. 5% of your overall course grade will be determined by this activity.

1. You will teach the class as if we were students in your 1301 class. This should be something you have written for your 1301 course.

2. You will teach one activity for approximately 20 minutes. Before you begin, explain where we are, what has lead up to this activity (what we would know if we had been in your class already), and what learning goal you hope to achieve with this activity, and how that relates to your overall sequence.

3. Your lesson/activity MUST demonstrate

• active, student-centered learning
• writing--individual or group
• discussion/small group work
